We have a solution that’s being executed right now. we’ve set up a migration path that includes an open group in MeWe called Tumblr Outcasts. We have instructions on how to migrate from tumblr photos to dashboard. Then from Dashboard to MeWe Tumblr Outcasts. There are no rules in Tumblr Outcasts. Once in there, users can decide what group they want to end up in and migrate to that group.

I’m going to keep this blog because it does have so much more to it than adult content. Yes, that content has helped me grow and become more comfortable with my own sexuality, so I may be creating a Twitter or Pornhub account for that kind of stuff.
It really means a lot that you sent a message asking about my little corner of Tumblr. I’m so happy that you like my blog!
Could someone pls pop onto my blog and let me know if this post is appearing? Thanks so much! I think I *might* have fixed it.
A huge thank you to @fallout-and-dragon-age for reaching out and letting me know that I was muted this morning, and for sharing some resources. And thank you to everyone who let me know that it was fixed.
@notjustanyannie + anyone else who is curious. I don’t know if what I did fixed it or if tumblr figured it out. This is what I tried: (click me)
Basically I had someone see what the last post on my blog they could see was, then I “edited” (add a couple of spaces and saved) all of the posts that were newer than that one.
17 December - a rescue plan
Some good news, I’ve been talking to two developers now, just had a meeting with the guys behind an existing large (millions of users) site similar to Tumblr, with a vibrant and open-minded community, and more importantly, it has open-minded owners who believe in free speech. They think we can get something done here to rescue the whole community.
I’m not allowed to reveal the site name yet. One of the reasons is they don’t want a “land grab” where people take the names of current popular Tumblr users over there (cyber squatting). So they are looking at ways for existing Tumblr users to keep the same names on the new site.
More info over the days to come.
The plan is, broadly:
1. By 9 December, announcement of the new site and how to secure your username there
2. By 10 December, an online tool for bloggers to copy their existing content to the new site automatically, with the same tags and captions.
3. Bloggers will need to copy their content across between 10 and 17 December if they want to use the automatic tool.
4. My understanding is that after 17 December there will be no public access to any “flagged” posts on Tumblr, but the original poster will still be able to see the flagged post (for a short time at least). Therefore, the original poster may still be able to manually download a post to their own PC or phone, after 17 December, and manually upload it to the other site. But if you have lots of posts that will take a long time, it will be better to use the automatic tool before 17 December.
Please understand that these dates are approximate and may change for technical or other reasons.
There may be a few rough edges or not so perfect looking site design at first. Everyone is doing their best, the main goal here is to help as many people as possible preserve access to their content, in the short space of time Tumblr has allowed us, and preserve as much as possible of the Tumblr community spirit somewhere new.
The new site will cater for photo, GIF, text and html posts. It will not offer video and audio posts, due to cost reasons - maybe in future, but for now you will need to preserve video and audio content yourself in some other place.
If your Tumblr blog has a mixture of original content and reblogs, or all reblogs, all of that can be copied over to the new site. Reblogs will become “your” original content if nobody else posted them yet, otherwise they will be shown as reblogs. The devs are looking at ways to preserve attribution of reblogs back to the original Tumblr poster, if that person also moves to the new site.
Important: your Likes cannot be copied from Tumblr to the new site. You will have to go find the same posts again on the new site, and like them afresh.
(Similarly, existing reblog comments, asks, messages and other user interaction on Tumblr cannot be copied to the new site - that’s just too much to do, in the short time available.)
If you want to preserve any of your existing Liked posts on Tumblr, you will need to either: (1) download the post to your own PC, or: (2A) reblog it now to your own Tumblr blog, and then (2B) use the automatic tool, before 17 December, to move your whole Tumblr blog across to the new site.
If you have Liked a lot of posts here on Tumblr, the Gridllr.com webapp should be able to help you do steps 1 and 2A quickly, I mean download or reblog.
(Someone complained to me today about the appearance of Gridllr on a phone. It’s best to use Gridllr on a PC, Mac or Tablet with a large screen.)
If you have liked a post here on Tumblr and the original poster decides to delete it, or even to delete their entire blog, some time before 17 December then that post will be permanently lost. So if you want to be sure to preserve any of your Liked posts, you should best download or repost as soon as possible.
Obviously, you will lose access, after 17 December, to all past posts you have liked, if Tumblr has flagged them as NSFW. Again, the steps (1), or (2A) and (2B) covered above will be the only way to hold on to these posts.
Tumblr Banning All Adult Content Starting December 17
Tumblr has updated their terms of service and will be banning all adult blogs starting December 17. That means this blog and all associated blogs will be disabled and removed from public access soon.

Obviously, I’m quite disappointed by this and the resulting loss of over 6 years of work building and maintaining this blog and its community. I will try to set up a mirror of the Anal Only Lifestyle blog in the coming weeks, but I expect that the porn blogs may be gone for good just due to the costs of hosting large amounts of image/video content.
How Can I Stay Connected to the Anal Only Lifestyle Community?
Fortunately, we’re far more than just these blogs! Our community is centralized at the Anal Only Lifestyle Forum and Discord server. Please join and bookmark these links in order to stay connected with this community and follow our next steps as we continue to build and grow the anal only community. In addition to discussion and realtime chat, the Discord server also has porn sharing sections.
You can also find us on Twitter and Reddit.
What Can I Do About My Own Blog?
Tumblr lets you back up and download your blog. Go to your Blog Settings page for the blog in question, scroll to the bottom, click the Export button at the bottom, and wait for an email that notifies you it’s ready to be downloaded. If it’s a big blog, it might be a very large file—this blog was 25 GB!
Alternatives to Tumblr
This list will be updated as I find more alternatives. Please feel free to share any others with me.
- Twitter
This is an obvious alternative, and while it’s not the same as Tumblr, it has some similarities and can reach a wide audience. It does not have a built-in posting queue, though some third party tools may support that. - Reddit
If you have a community, setting up a subreddit is an easy way to establish a public forum for it. Individual users can post content to their profile pages as well, though it lacks advanced features like a queue. - Fetlife
A community for various adult/fetish topics and subcommunities. More of a Facebook-of-kink than a porn sharing platform. - Discord
This is a realtime chat platform that allows you to set up your own server with different channels, with web, desktop, and mobile app support. Another great option for establishing a central community location. Allows the sharing of media as well as all sorts of other options. - bdsmlr
This is a Tumblr clone explicitly created for adult content. It seems to still be in the early stages and is a bit clunky still, but has potential. It also lacks in users, currently, but I’m sure that will change before long! - pillowfort.io
This is another Tumblr-like service in early development. At the time of this post it is offline and undergoing security updates, but keep checking in to see how it progresses. - Sharesome
An adult platform for posting and sharing content. This has some Tumblr-like features, allowing the reposting of content, addition of your own comments and captions, and curation of custom topics. Doesn’t appear to support queueing. - Swarmr
A Tumblr clone that allows NSFW content and supports multiple blogs per account. There aren’t a great deal of options yet, and it doesn’t seem to have much content, but that could change quickly if people join. - Humblr
A Mastodon instance for porn sharing.
- Minds
A blockchain/crypto-based platform that allows posting and tagging adult content. Seems to have issues with searching adult tags, however, and doesn’t have a queue. - Blogr.xxx
- Your own self-hosted website
This is one of the safest options, though lacks the surrounding community to help with growth that a service like Tumblr has, so you’ll need to have somewhat of an established community already to migrate to your own platform, but it can be a great option to create a central hub for your followers and community members to base out of.

Looks like I’m starting a Porn hub account
I think the real problem here is that big media corporations seem to believe that social media userbases are fungible, and persist in acting on this belief no matter how many times it’s demonstrated to be wrong.
There’s a specific pattern of events that plays out over and over (and over) again, and it looks something like this:
1. Social media platform becomes popular
2. Social media platform is purchased by big media corporation in order to gain access to it large user base
3. Big media corporation realises that social media platform’s demographics are not the demographics they want to sell things to.
4. Big media corporation institutes measures to drive away “undesirable” users, apparently in the honest belief that the outgoing users will automatically be replaced by an equal number of new, more demographically desirable users
5. This does not, in fact, occur
6. Social media platform crashes and burns
You’d think that, by the sheer law of averages, at least one person who’s capable of learning from experience would become involved in this whole process at some point.
That person has been fired
